A messy desk & a messy DVR

Writing spaces. Everyone's got their angle or their relationship with them. I'm not going to bore you or myself with a post about that. But my desk is a mess. And that's some bad mojo. I need to clear up the desk. But I haven't been able to bring myself to do it. It's like there's too much stuff on the desk. Too many ideas, sketches, bits of notes, attempts at pages. And I'm not sure what to leave on the desk.

I'm waiting for the smoke to clear.

And in the meantime I have a cluttered DVR as well. And a lot of questions.

- Why am I still watching Fringe? It's fun, but a questionable show whose main character is its least interesting part is suspect. [My favorite comment on it: William Rabkin, who taught my UCLA extension class, said that Anna Torv is making a stab at the Best Impersonation of Ellen Barkin From the 1980s. Love it.]

- Did I really enjoy the first episode of Life on Mars? Really?

- Is How I Met Your Mother really the best comedy on TV? I've been a fan from the beginning, but this show is on its game and kicking some ass. Can it keep it up? And is it just a matter of time before 30 Rock reclaims its relative throne?

- The Mentalist seems intent on reducing crime solving not to smoke and mirrors, but to the lamest and lowest common denominator clues that I've ever seen. It's like a humorless Psych meets Idiocracy.

- Two many remakes, not enough time to be disappointed.

- Bones is on an upswing! Yea! (Side note: Chemistry is a fickle and amazing thing. Did the producing team behind Bones notice when their show sparked back to life two weeks ago when Zach was back on the show? The entire cast was sparking. Coincidence? I think not. You can't always pull a Joss and have it work. Sometimes you just let the bottom out. But this Season 4 is making me think they might pull off a rehab.)

- Where the hell have I been?

All told, I'm looking for something that itches my spec bone. Still waiting for the smoke to clear there too.

Kind of feel like someone standing on the sidelines, not sure where to jump into the fray yet.

And the confusion seems to be infecting everything. This entertaining post from Michael had me scratching my head for wayyyyyy too long.

ps. *cough*

That's a lot of TV watching, Adam. Of course, it's your job, so it's okay... like it's okay for me to watch porn all the time.

just me said...

I like how Joshua Jackson is channeling a 35-year-old Pacy from Dawson's Creek on The Fringe and no one seems to notice.
